Movie Review : Kung Fu Panda 3

This review is going to be a bit different. Since this is an animated movie, I’m just going to tell what’s good about, what could have been done better and what was bad. So without further ado, here is my review for Kung Fu Panda 3

The Good:

The voice acting in this movie is top notch. This is the third movie in the series and the characters were still as fresh as ever. The jokes were great and I loved every moment of the writing. One of my favorite voices was JK Simmons as the villain, Kai.

Another great thing about this movie was the animation. It was breathtaking and surprisingly stylish. It managed to surprise me with its style even though it is the third movie in the trilogy.

The story is good and the action is fast paced. The jokes are funny, and for a kids movie this does have a lot of heart. There are some themes which even adults can relate to, and in an age where kids entertainment is yellow blobs yelling banana it is great to see a movie respecting its audience and trying to teach something which might matter to them when they look back on it.

And thank god for the fact that this is only a few seconds over an hour and a half. I’m not really I could have sat through another two and a half hour movie after Dawn of Justice.

Oh and, how can I forget, the music by Hans Zimmer was on point.

Could have been better:

For the most part I didn’t mind all the new characters that were introduced into the film. What did bug me was that they pushed back some of the main characters in the previous films to make space for the new characters. The movie is still very enjoyable though.

I would have liked a much more intense fight between Po and the villain, but it is what it is and it is still very enjoyable

The Bad:

There is not really anything bad about that movie other than the fact that it follows a very simple formula similar to all the previous movies.

Po needs to learn something. He faces the villain, loses, trains, and fights again and at the last moment learns what he has to do to defeat the villain. It is more of a problem of repetition than one of the story as a whole. Never the less it is a really funny one, so I don’t mind cutting it some slack.

Conclusion:

This movie is funny; fast paced, and has top notch voice acting. Honestly there is nothing more I can really ask for from a Kung Fu Panda movie. And honestly, this is a more enjoyable movie than Batman V Superman any day.

I give Kung Fu Panda 3 a 8 out of 10

Peace!
