Books and me: Its Complicated…

Image
Hey guys!!! So with this article I wanted to start my book reviews. In this post I will talk about when I started reading. What author made really serious impacts on me, the type of books I prefer to read, what I love, what I hate how long  I read every day  and all the other stuff, which I want to get out of the way before I start dedicating one post to one book. I started reading books at a really young age. I probably got the habit from my parents. Both of them were avid readers and soon I started following in their footsteps. I started reading a lot of books at a very young age. But when I was 8 years old, there was one author, whose books I actively searched for and read. Enid Blyton. When I was in my fourth grade, I had finished around 75 books of her Famous Five and Secret Seven series . So, at that time, Harry Potter was a huge thing. It still is. One day my dad bought The Philosophers Stone home, and I started reading it. But I felt that it was sli...

Random Talk : Kochadiiyaan - My Thoughts on last time...

Hey guys!! So I have been getting a lot of bad reviews on my review of Vallavanuku Pullum Ayidhyum. Mostly because I took a swipe at Rajinikanth’s Kochadiiiyaan. Three of my friends in particular have been punishing me badly and there is a lot of bad blood going on between me and a lot of hardcore Rajini fans. Well this is my point of view on why I took a bite at the film trailer. First off, I want to say that I respect Rajinikanth’s acting ability and also think he is a legendary actor. So let me make my stand clear. The movie looks bad. I do not hate Rajinikanth. What I am saying is that just because Rajinikanth is in it doesn’t make the movie great. Now, back to the topic. Kochadiiyaan is the first motion capture film made in India. Before I go on a rant, which some of you have had fun reading, I have to lay down the facts about this method of film making. This method of film making involves placing sensors on specific parts of the body to mimic and capture ...

Random Talk :State of Tamil filmaking

I saw Vallavanukum Pullum Ayidhuyam, and I have been balling up this huge wad of anger and resentment which has burst out in this post. Having seen the trailer for the movie during the beginning of The Amazing Spiderman , I had this gut feeling that the movie….would not be good. But nonetheless we booked the tickets and went to the night show hoping to get at least a few laughs. To put it kindly, this movie is DOGSHIT. I don’t want to name the movie for what it actually is because that would have a lot of really bad language. Let me tell you the good stuff, in this movie. You know credit where credits due. Where can I start….there is so much to say (note the sarcasm). The bad guy is a good actor. But that doesn’t mean he does the film any good. And there is one slapstick joke that made me laugh. And then there was……wait there was……. There was this one thing……….. Nope there was nothing more. My bad J Let’s get to the bad stuff. Bad acting, terrible dialogue, bad cin...

Random Talk: Disney and Animation…

Image
Having just watched Frozen I was in full Disney mode and thought that I would do this …… article, I guess, on Disney animated movies made by Walt Disney Animation Studios . This post will not have any organization like all my other posts. This is just my random thoughts as they come. This will also serve as a short review for Frozen . So let us begin. I was, and still am a huge fan of animated movies. I am practically an adult and I guess that it is childish, but there really is a child in all of us. Now, in my opinion, Walt Disney Studios started the animation revolution so I expect a lot from any new Disney animated movie, especially if it is made by Walt Disney studios . I love all the Disney classics. Beauty and the Beast is one of the best films ever, and then there is The Lion King . If you don’t know what it is and if you don’t show your kids that movie…………which planet are you from. Snow white was great, Little Mermaid was good, 101 Dalmatians was awesome , Aladdin ...

Movie Review: The Amazing Spiderman 2

Image
The Amazing Spiderman 2 follows the adventures of Peter Parker A.K.A Spiderman, directly after the events of the first movie. Peter is rocking out as Spiderman and his relationship with Gwen is really strong. Now there is only one question left to be answered: Does The Amazing Spiderman 2 live up to its name? That’s the question I am going to answer in this review. But before I get on with the review of this film I want to say a few words about the second film in Sam Raimi’s trilogy. It was a master piece. To me that is the benchmark. It is perfect in almost every sense. The story was solid. The action, exiting.  The acting palpable. Overall, the benchmark Spiderman movie. Then came the third movie, which was an all time low. I am happy that they made a reboot, and I am definitely happy of the second Amazing Spiderman. Here is a little info about the actors, directors and writers and everyone who made this movie great….. Cast and Crew: Directed by:     ...
