Ear-buds of Music - 7/6/2016
Before I begin with this week’s
list of seven songs I think you guys need to hear, I want to begin by
apologizing for throwing a wrench in my one day one post schedule. I was unable
to post my review for Kaleeshwarabhavanam
on the night of the 6th, because there was a power failure and I
lost all access to the internet.
I am also sorry that this post is
a whole day late (again due to power failure caused by the rains) , but I will
be posting this on Tuesdays from now on. I will also be posting a review for Oru Kodi Kanavagul today. Hopefully with
that, this whole fiasco will end and I will be able to get back to my regular
schedule of one post a day. I know that
it sounds horribly complicated, but all you guys need to know is that I will be
posting two drama reviews today.
So, now that I have got that
explanation out of the way, here is this week’s list of seven songs from
different genres which I think you need to hear.
First Class – Henry Jackman
Genre: Instrumental, orchestral
This theme is just too epic and
badass. Just put these on and do your work, and you will literally feel like
you’re Magneto moving metal with your mind. But it doesn’t even compare to the
awesomeness it becomes when the rock guitar kicks in. Even if you don’t
generally listen to instrumental music, give this thing a shot. You’ll love it.
Keep on Walking - Gabrielle Aplin
Genre: Pop, acoustic
This song has a lot of soul to
it. On the surface it basically sounds like a pop song but somehow, I really
like the lyrics and the beat and the vocals. It also helps that the music video
is not too shabby. Personally, I enjoy this song a lot when I am walking
somewhere. Oh the irony :P
Elastic Heart - Sia
Genre: Alternative
Frankly it was a hard pick
between this and Chandelier. Both of them are amazing songs sung really, really
well by one of my favorite vocalists. But I prefer Elastic Heart to Chandelier.
Your mind may vary on this matter nevertheless; both of them are great songs.
Check either of them out and you won’t be disappointed.
Beautiful Now - Zedd
Genre: EDM
I really am not a huge fan of
EDM. There are very few bands that I listen to and even fewer which I like. I
will say this, I do not enjoy much of Zedd’s other music. But this particular
track is really good. It probably is the beat and the vocals. Whatever it is, I
enjoy it, and I am sure most of you will.
Pretender – Foo Fighters
Genre: Rock
This is probably as rock-y as
rock gets. The beats, the guitar, the bass and the screaming everything just,
funnily enough, screams rock. Along with Dave Grohl’s Vocals, the video also
does a good job of selling the song.
Inner Universe - Origa, Yoko Kanno
Genre: Opera, alternative
This song is just haunting. It doesn’t
have a proper flow and most of the lyrics are in Russian, but somehow all of
this adds to the feel of the song. I listened to this song on a loop for abut
fifteen times. It really had such an impact on me. Your mileage may vary, but
if you keep an open mind, im sure you will agree with me on this one.
Symphony no. 40 in G Minor – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Genre:
Classical
This is
one of my favorite Mozart pieces. The way the music flows from the soft tunes
to the crescendos is just indescribable. I honest cannot, for the life of me,
explain why I like it so much. I just do. I guess that is the magic of Mozart.
So
there you go guys, another seven songs for the week. Like I said, I will be
posting a review for Oru Kodi Kanavagul today, so stay tuned for that. Until
then:
Peace!!!
